front of your crib sounding like chinese new year, brrraaattt -
a most productive weekend. i worked on a bunch of artwork, met a new friend, and went to new york's chinese new year parade in chinatown. matthew is fantastic. we have a lot of things in common, i hope we can hang out more and possibly do some art together. here are some photos from the parade sunday. -->
friday night after leaving the bar, matt and i decided to inspect this glowing light that arose from the sidewalk...we headed down the stairs. while we stepped down, i could smell the faint scent of cherry pipe tobacco and could here a radio playing in the distance. i fumbled around with my mobile phone to try to take some pictures while matt circled anxiously looking for a place to put up one of his lochness stickers. it seemed to be an unused metro station. seconds later a man appeared very calm to the point of eerie and softly said to us "what are you doing down here? you're going to walk right back up those stairs now aren't you?" which then matt replied rapidly "absolutely." i swear he didn't blink once, and he wasn't holding the pipe that the cherry smell was coming from. great first adventure for two new friends.
today, i went and picked up this book:
it involves animals trying to talk with people and apparently elijah wood, salman rushdie and wong kar-wai die. completely kooky, and i'm happy with it so far.
